Sept. 2017 update: Fluoride Exposure in Utero Linked to Lower IQ in Kids
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly warns parents:
“...if your child is exclusively consuming infant formula reconstituted with fluoridated water, there may be an increased chance for mild dental fluorosis. To lessen this chance, parents can use low-fluoride bottled water...”

(This is the same organization that claims artificial fluoridation is “one of 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century“!)
Several U.S. Jurisdictions Issue Warnings to Residents re: Fluoridated Water
Infants consuming fluoridated tap water have the HIGHEST fluoride intakes of any age group (up to 0.21 mg of fluoride per kg of body weight per day – Source: EPA-822-R-00-001, 2004)

exceeding the EPA’s Reference Dose and exceeding the “no effect” levels for various adverse effects (see pages 43 and 44 of the legal brief with appended affidavit from fluoride toxicity expert Kathleen Thiessen, PhD – this document was provided to the Region in June 2014 – how do they sleep at night?)

EPA’s Reference Dose for Chronic Oral Fluoride Exposure is shown here: 60 ug/kg/day = 0.06 mg/kg/day based on noncarcinogenic effects only: https://cfpub.epa.gov/ncea/iris/iris_documents/documents/subst/0053_summary.pdf
Health Canada’s technical document on fluoride in drinking water shows that infants whose formula is mixed with fluoridated water consume up to 120 ug/kg/day = 0.12 mg/kg/day based on 1ppm fluoride in water (http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/publications/healthy-living-vie-saine/water-fluoride-fluorure-eau/index-eng.php?page=4#tabb3). At 0.7ppm fluoride, some of Peel’s infants are receiving more than EPA’s reference dose of 0.06 mg/kg/day.
The prestigious 2006 NRC report “FLUORIDE IN DRINKING WATER: A Scientific Review of EPA’s Standards“, page 263: “In humans, effects on thyroid function were associated with fluoride exposures of 0.05-0.13 mg/kg/day when iodine intake was adequate and 0.01-0.03 mg/kg/day when iodine intake was inadequate.“
Meanwhile, the Region of Peel does not even inform residents that their water is fluoridated, let alone warn them of any health risks. The Region is denying residents, including the parents of infants, the right to make informed choices regarding their health.

Dr. David Kennedy, Past President of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, explains that infants are getting higher doses of Fluoride in tap water than a Dr. could prescribe. At 5:40, witness Dr. Howard Pollick, one of the pro-fluoridation experts who presented at the illegally closed Peel meeting, rationalize making tap water unfit for infants at a San Diego meeting. Dr. Pollick recommended distilled water for mixing infant formula. The Region does not bother to pass this recommendation, which is made by many experts, along to Peel’s parents.

Peel’s commissioned 2007 fluoridation study: no difference in cavity rates, but double the fluorosis for children in fluoridated areas (34% vs. 16%)
Dr. Dick Ito compared SES-matched samples of 7 year-old school children from fluoridated Brampton and unfluoridated Caledon. Even in the unfluoridated sample, 16% of our children had already been harmed by over-exposure to fluoride. This isn’t rocket science – we shouldn’t be adding something to our water when our children have already been over-exposed to it.
